Bio:
Maureen Stanton is the author of three award-winning nonfiction books. Her memoir, “The Murmur of Everything Moving,” published in 2025, was the winner of the Donald Jordan Prize for Literary Excellence. Her prior book, “Body Leaping Backward: Memoir of a Delinquent Girlhood,” was the winner of the Maine Literary Award in memoir.
Maureen has been reading, writing, and publishing memoir for over three decades, and teaching memoir and creative nonfiction to undergraduates, graduate students, and community members—including a group of six-year-olds—for over 20 years. She currently teaches at UMass Lowell and lives in Georgetown, Maine.
