  • 25 Mechanic Street Camden, Maine 04843 United States (map)

Drawing on her reporting for Downeast: Five Maine Girls and the Unseen Story of Rural America, Gigi Georges will discuss how immersive, long-form journalism — built on time, trust, and careful listening — can challenge dominant narratives about rural America. Following five girls in Downeast Washington County over four years, her work brings forward stories that resonate across the urban-rural divide, pointing toward a more hopeful understanding of rural life.
